Chihuahuas surrender four runs in 11th inning in 9-6 loss to Las Vegas
The Chihuahuas battled back from multiple deficits but were not able to overcome an 11th inning onslaught in a 9-6 loss to Las Vegas Monday.
The teams entered extra innings tied at five, but the 51s used a pair of RBI singles and a two-run double to seize control in the 11th.
The Chihuahuas were able to get one run back in the bottom half of the inning, but they were unable to complete the comeback.
The Chihuahuas fell to 7-5 with the loss while the 51s improved to 4-8.
The teams split their four-game series with Las Vegas winning games one and four.
Phillip Evans went 4-5 with a double and two RBI for Las Vegas. El Paso’s Allen Craig was 2-5 with a two-run home run to his credit.
The Chihuahuas will play their next seven games on the road, beginning with a game Tuesday at Reno.
