UPDATE: I-10 West & Transmountain back open after serious wreck
UPDATE: All lanes going east and west bound are now open, according to a police department tweet.
ORIGINAL STORY: A wreck involving several vehicles shut down the freeway’s westbound lanes in West El Paso.
It appears a dump truck fell off the frontage road near the Transmountain overpass onto the I-10 West lanes below.
Police said five people were injured. One person suffered serious injuries. The Canutillo ISD said via Twitter its school buses are experiencing delays because of the wreck.
The Texas Department of Transportation tweeted the following message: “I-10 WB is still closed at Artcraft. Traffic is detoured west to Doniphan, SH-20, then north to Vinton to return to I-10 WB. I-10 EB is still open, but Transmountain Exit 6 is closed. Traffic is detoured at Vinton to Doniphan. We’ve activated radio message and beacon signs.”

The Texas Department of Transportation said in a tweet I-10 West at Transmountain will be “closed until further notice.”
