EPPD: Man dies from Tuesday afternoon motorcycle crash
El Paso Police confirmed a man involved in a single-motorcycle crash Tuesday has died.
Police say 49-year-old Byron Tracy Byrd was driving a 2016 Harley Davidson near the 300 block of Yarbrough when he struck a raised curb causing the vehicle and driver to go airborne.
Byrd became separated from the motorcycle and struck a pole, according to police.
Police say Byrd was not wearing a helmet and was splitting traffic as he came out from between two vehicles when he approached the curb.
He was transported to Del Sol Medical Center where he later died.
Special Traffic Investigations identified failure to control speed as a contributing factor.
