Three men arrested after reports of several “jugging” cases
Three men have been arrested after reports of several “jugging” cases across the borderland.
Colby Carrington, 21, has been charged with six counts of Burglary of Vehicle with total bonds set at $57,500. Isaiah Jackson, 20, has been charged with two counts of burglary of vehicle and one count of theft with his bonds set at $34,000, and Tyler Perez-Philbot, 22, has been charged with one count of burglary of vehicle with his bond set at $7,500.
“Jugging” involves targeting banking customers who appear to make withdrawals in order to victimize them after leaving the bank. Offenders follow the unsuspecting victims to another location to either break into the victim’s car or to rob them of any funds that may have been withdrawn.
Although “Jugging” has been occurring for a few years in other Texas cities it is a relatively new crime trend in El Paso.
