Former EPISD teacher charged with child porn in San Antonio

A former El Paso ISD teacher is charged with possession of child pornography in San Antonio, according to KSAT, the ABC affiliate in San Antonio.

Police arrested 60-year-old Neil McGinnis Thursday in Kendall County and charged him with possession of 10 images of child pornography.

McGinnis worked as a teacher for more than 25 years in El Paso, Comfort and Kerville, KSAT reports.

An EPISD spokesman sent ABC-7 the following statement regarding McGinnis: “He was a teacher. Our records indicate he left the district in 1992 … As of today, that’s all the information we have.”

EPISD said McGinnis’ records were never digitized and it will take time to look for his paperwork to confirm more information about his time with the district.

KSAT reports McGinnis retired this year after teaching third grade in the North East Independent School District in San Antonio.
