Hundreds honor troops at Fort Bliss Armed Forces Day parade
Hundreds of people gathered at Fort Bliss to watch the inaugural Armed Forces Day parade. Students, military men and women, along with different organizations participated in the event which was held to honor those who serve.
There were bands, dancers, trucks and flags.
“There is no other country in the world like the United States,” Kiki Armendariz, who was watching the parade with his wife and grandchildren, said. “We’re out here to support our troops, our veterans here.”
Some also used the parade as a teaching moment.
“I saw a billboard and I just felt that this was a good way for my grandson to come see the military, the armed forces, and appreciate what they do for us,” one parade-watcher said.
The event was from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday and opened to the public.
