Local players selected for Blue-Grey All-American Bowl

At least three local players so far have announced their selection to the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl to be played in January at AT&T Stadium.

So far, Parkland wide receiver Khatib Lyles, Pebble Hills running back Caleb Gerber, and El Dorado running back Seth Davis have all confirmed that they have been selected to the game.

The annual contest divides players into teams from the east and west.

A total of 90 incoming seniors will be selected from a pool of 6,750 possible candidates, according to a letter sent out to the players.

According to organizers, representatives from more than 650 colleges from various divisions will be watching the game with their eye on talent.

Players were chosen based on their performance at regional combines or by being nominated by bowl game organizers.
