Texas parents accused of killing child blame ‘demons’
Court documents show Texas parents accused of killing their 2-year-old this month blame “demons” and “evil.”
Affidavits allege 24-year-old Stevie Williams and 20-year-old Dazrine Chagoya-Williams told police that something “other worldly” happened July 4 to their toddler, who was found dead with bruises in their Kyle home.
KXAN in Austin reports the woman told police her son didn’t have any bruises when he went to sleep. He was later found dead in his room. In an affidavit, police wrote the woman’s only explanation was “Something attacked him.” When asked to elaborate, the woman told police it could be “Demons, Evil,” the affidavit states.
The couple has been charged with capital murder of a person under 10. Court documents show they also face charges of injury to a child with serious bodily injury after their 8-month-old daughter was found with several injuries.
The charges are capital felonies punishable by the death penalty or life in prison. Records show the parents were being held in the Hays County Jail on Tuesday, with bail set at $250,000 each.
