WaPost: O’Rourke recently met with Obama as he weighs whether to run for president

El Paso Congressman Beto O’Rourke recently with former president Barack Obama as O’Rourke weighs whether to run for president in 2020, the Washington Post reports.

The newspaper reports the meeting was held on November 16th at the former president’s offices in Washington D.C.

The Post reports the meeting came as former Obama aides encouraged O’Rourke to run for president. The Obama aides reportedly believe O’Rourke is capable of the same kind of inspirational campaign that won Obama the presidency in 2008.

The Post also reports TMZ, the Hollywood-based entertainment website, is now trailing O’Rourke.

Last week, O’Rourke said at his last El Paso town hall he was considering a run, pending discussions with his family.
