UTEP Basketabll and Middle Tennessee tangle

The six and ten UTEP Miners took a trip up to Middle Tennessee to play the 4-14 Blue Raiders.

UTEP would be ahead 29 to 27 at the end of the half.

Then things got rough.

The Miners had to play the referees as well.

Coach Rodney Terry was given the hook in the second half after arguing a charge call on Nigel Hawkins.

Senior leader Paul Thomas, Effie Odigie, Nigel Hawkins and Kaosi Ezagu all fouled out.

Even after losing four of their stars UTEP still kept it close.

In the end though the Miners lost 75 to 72.

UTEP hit 15 of their 18 free throws compared to Middle Tennessee who went 17 for 30.

The Miners take on Old Dominion this Thursday.
