Beto O’Rourke to talk with Oprah in live conversation in New York City
Former El Paso congressman Beto O’Rourke is set to make a high-profile appearance with Oprah Winfrey.
Oprah is hosting Super Soul Conversations Live from Times Square at 2:30 p.m. El Paso time. The event is sold out.
O’Rourke, a Democrat who represented much of El Paso in Washington, D.C. from 2013 until Jan. 3, 2019, is one of several guests participating in the live event in New York City.
Other guests include Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper, “Black Panther” actor Michael B. Jordan, American philanthropist Melinda Gates and Lisa Borders, the president and CEO of Time’s Up and former president of the Women’s National Basketball Association.
Super Soul Conversations Live was billed as a discussion with top thinkers, authors and visionaries.
The live conversation will be broadcast on the Oprah Winfrey Network and will be available as a podcast at a later date.
O’Rourke fell short in his bid to unseat Republican Sen. Ted Cruz in November.
Speculation on whether O’Rourke would announce a run for president in 2020 heightened when his participation in the talk with Oprah was first announced.
