Chihuahuas Rally From 6-Run Deficit, Edge Rainiers
It looked like the El Paso Chihuahuas were dead in the water Sunday afternoon.
Then Michael Gettys did something that he’s done all week. From there, his teammates followed suit.
The Chihuahuas stole an 8-7 victory from the Tacoma Rainiers Sunday, coming back from a 6-run deficit after the first 4 innings.
Michael Gettys hit a 3-run home run as part of a 4-run 5th inning, tying a team record of consecutive home runs in 5 games.
The previous record holder? Ty France, who did so last week.
France was not to be outdone today by Gettys, as he hit a go-ahead grand slam in the 7th inning to give El Paso the 8-7 lead.
Chihuahuas have now won 4 of their last 5, as they go for another victory tomorrow night in the series finale in Tacoma.
