1 new virus death, but no additional cases in Juarez

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico -- The Chihuahua Health Secretariat on Friday said there was one new coronavirus death in the city of Juarez, but no additional cases were reported.

The latest Juarez death was the city's 105th Covid-19 fatality, and one of 132 deaths throughout the state of Chihuahua.

There were only 10 new virus cases recorded on Friday in Chihuahua state, bringing the statewide case total to 739.

To date, Juarez has accounted for the majority of virus cases in the state as its total stood firm at 466. Chihuahua city is second at 210 cases, while all the other communities in the state are reporting case counts in the single digits.

Across Mexico on Friday, there were 29,616 total confirmed cases - with about ten percent, or 2,961, resulting in death.
