Sunland Park Mall lands new tenants for vacant Sears store, unveils new entertainment options
The new owners of Sunland Park Mall are hoping to breathe life back into what the general manager is calling a “dated” shopping center.
In the past four months, several new eateries opened up. A lounge area is coming where folks can share books, read, and watch TV while they wait for family or friends to shop.
An entire children’s entertainment section will soon open on the first floor with life-size chess pieces, life-size jenga games and something special for the kids: Disney movies and cartoons on a large screen near the former Sears store with a cereal bar — and all of it free.
And in the now shuttered Sears space, ABC-7 has learned True Fit Gym will be opening up on one of the floors, while Conn’s Furniture will soon be occupying the rest of that space.
The new mall owners say they are willing to invest thousands of dollars in the mall — and that could even include a brewery.
