EL PASO, Texas -- Newly obtained court documents allege that an El Paso father charged with his daughter's murder confessed to killing the teen during a violent fight over her cell phone.

A police affidavit in support of the arrest of 39-year-old Ghari Ingraham, obtained Thursday by ABC-7, contends he admitted to throwing his 17-year-old daughter Carissa into the wall of their apartment and then choking her until she stopped fighting back.

Investigators have previously said that Ingraham dumped her remains into a section of the Rio Grande, where migrants often drown during border crossings, and then reported his daughter missing. A fisherman over the weekend found the girl's body in the river near Executive Center Boulevard and Paisano Drive on the city's west side.

Ingraham is due in court for bond hearing on Friday. He remained held in the downtown jail Thursday with a bail amount of $750,000.
