Doña Ana County surpasses 500 Covid deaths
DOÑA ANA COUNTY, New Mexico -- With more than 500 Doña Ana County residents dead from Covid-19 complications, the state is educating New Mexicans on the various testing options.
Any New Mexico resident test for Covid-19 from their homes using a kit from Vault Health.
“The best thing about the Vault test is the convenience of not having to go anywhere," said David Morgan, a spokesman for the New Mexico Department of Health. "There’s no standing in line. There’s no going out in public, risking any undue exposure.”
To sign up, go to this link. The saliva tests cost the state $120 each. New Mexicans can choose to enter their insurance information, but the testing kits are free to anyone who wants one.
New Mexicans must take their Covid-19 tests with the supervision of a medical professional online. According to the state, it takes between 24 to 72 hours to get results back.
The state recommends the Vault Health tests as an option for those who interact with the public regularly and want to get tested every week.
"The best thing about the Vault test is to be able to have that privacy and flexibility to test in your home and get the results at home as well," Morgan said.
