RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Salvadoran immigrant has agreed to plea guilty to all crimes in the killing of four Nevada residents during a two-week rampage in January 2019. The unexpected deal a Washoe County judge certified Thursday spares Wilber Ernesto Martinez Guzman from two death penalty trials. It puts the 22-year-old in prison for the rest of his life with no possibility of appeals or parole. Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks says the deal came at the request of families of all the victims. He says they wanted closure in a nearly three-year-old case that was sure to drag on for years more with the potential for decades of appeals.
