MONACO (AP) — Charles Leclerc led both practice sessions at the Monaco Grand Prix to boost his hopes that a win on his home track can return him to the top of the Formula One standings. Ferrrari had a strong Friday as Carlos Sainz Jr. was second fastest. The teammates were ahead of both Red Bull cars of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen. Mercedes had another disappointing opening day. The new Mercedes for 2022 has struggled with what’s called “porpoising” – an aerodynamic issue where cars hop and bounce on the track.
