EL PASO, Texas — A day after reaching the 100 death milestone, El Paso County on Sunday saw no additional coronavirus deaths and just 40 new cases to begin the week.

Health officials had noted late last week that although new cases continued to rise, it was now happening at a slower rate.

The cumulative number of cases on Sunday reached 3,834.

The number of El Pasoans hospitalized remained stable Sunday at 85 patients with 51 listed in intensive care, which was also unchanged. The number of those on ventilators increased by just one to 27.
