EL PASO, Texas - The El Paso City Department of Public Health recently reported that flu cases are up nearly 90 percent from last flu season. So the El Paso Fire Department is extending their Vaccinations for Health program.

The program provides free flu shots, blood pressure and glucose screenings to people 18 and older, and free pneumonia shots to people 65 and older. The services are provided every Wednesday in January, February and March, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the El Paso Fire Department's Safety, Health and Outreach center on 5415 Trowbridge at Chelsea. Another free clinic is scheduled for this Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. at Fire Station 26 on 9418 North Loop.

The service is free to all residents of El Paso and Hudspeth counties who do not have medical insurance or are on Medicaid. Call 3-1-1 for more information.
