61-year-old El Paso virus survivor cheered as she leaves hospital after 36 days – half of it in the ICU
EL PASO, Texas -- An El Paso woman is a fighter.
Staff of Las Palmas Medical Center lined the hallway as 61-year-old Maria Soto was finally discharged.
She spent 36 days in the hospital fighting Covid-19.
As she made her departure from the hospital with her daughter, she had some heartfelt words for the hospital staff.
"Thank you very much. God bless you, all of you, thank you," she said as the staff applauded her.
Soto was there for just over a month, with part of that time spent in the intersive car unit.
After the ordeal, she was excited to finally be able to embrace her family and head home.
