No new El Paso Covid-19 deaths for 3rd straight day

EL PASO, Texas -- For the third day in a row on Saturday, El Paso public health leaders said there were no new deaths to report stemming from Covid-19 illness. The number of deaths during the pandemic held at 2,620.

There were 11 new coronavirus infections reported Saturday, with the number of active cases currently standing at 673.

As of Saturday, there are 58 El Pasoans hospitalized due to Covid, with 24 of those patients listed in intensive care and 20 requiring the use of ventilators.

Health officials estimate that 132,825 individuals to date have recovered from the virus, although doctors caution that some people may experience ongoing health issues even after recovery.
