What Is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a form of healthcare that specializes on the neuro-muscular and skeletal system. Doctors of Chiropractic use manual manipulation along with therapy, nutrition and a combination of modalities (heat, ice, e-stem, ultrasound) to help treat patients. Chiropractors use a controlled and precise thrust to physically help the individual segment of the spine to function properly.

Many muscles are attached to thespine for movement and support of the body. When an improper movement is performed or a person is injured due to the lack of flexibility and exercise, the muscles tend to contract and limit movement. This restriction can cause minor rotation of a vertebrae causing pain and decreased range of motion. The doctor will adjust the segment helping the realignment of the spine and allowing the muscles to relax, resulting in proper function.
