Deming Inundated By Street Flooding
DEMING, NM — Demingauthorities arereporting streets flooded throughout the town as a result of heavy rains.
“Heavy rains have been coming down in the city since 2 p.m. on Friday,” said Edith Simpson, the office manager for the Deming Police Department.
“The streets always flood when it rains hard,” Ms. Simpson said.”The worst call came from a Deming funeral home where the roof had caved in, but there are no reports of injuries.”
The National Weather Service had a flash flood warning in effect for Deming and Luna County, and also for part of Torrance and Santa Fe counties.
It also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Dona Ana County early in the afternoon.
