Sunland Park To Send Officers To Disaster Zone

SUNLAND PARK, NM. – Yet another local law enforcement agency sends its members to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Police Officers from Sunland Park tell ABC-7 that they want to join the Katrina Recovery volunteer effort. Five police officers from the force are heading off to the St. Charles area of New Orleans.

Whilethe entire Sunland Park police roster is only 23 officers strong,the department already has a plan.Other members of the departmenttell ABC-7 thatthey are more than willing to pull extra shifts for as long as the volunteers are gone.
