LCPD: Burglar Arrested; Victim Was Allegedly ‘Maced’

LAS CRUCES, NM. – Police in the City of the Crosses say they have a suspect in a house robbery that included an assault on the owner.

On Tuesday, police arrested Las Cruces resident 34-year-old Paul Norton.Mr. Nortonis charged with one count of Robbery for allegedly breaking into a home at 310 Sputh Willow and forcibly taking items from the residence.

Police tell ABC-7 thatMr. Norton allegedlysprayed the homeowner in the face with mace during the incident.

Norton is in the Dona Ana County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
