Four Hikers Rescued Off Mount Franklin
EL PASO, TX. — Four peoplewere rescued overnight after they became trapped in the Franklin Mountains. The group had been hiking on TransmountainRoadsince the previous evening andhad lost their way, rescue crews said.
They couldn’t move off a cliff where rescuers found them. Officials sayat least one person set fire tosome clothing to alert anyone’s attention.
West Side Police Command personnel said a passerby sawthe flamesand reported it.
Thesearch and rescue effortstaffed bypolice and emergency medical crews lasted for around five hours.
