West EP Rollover Kills 7 Year-Old Boy

EL PASO, TX. – A rollover crash on the city’s westside leaves a 7 year-old boy dead.

The single vehicle crash happened around noon Friday on I-10 East between Mesa and Resler. Police tell ABC-7 for unknown reasons the driver of a tan Ford SUV lost control and rolled into a dry retention pond.

Good samaritans and emergency crews arrived a short time later to find the Ford banged-up, but right-side-up.

Emergency crews tell ABC-7 that the 7-year-old boy was ejected from the SUV. Attempts to save the young boy were not successful. Police haven’t determined if the boy was wearing a seatbelt.

Three other people were pulled from the SUV and transported a local hospital. Police tell ABC-7 that they continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
