NMSU Plans Native American Cultural Center

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) – New Mexico State University plans to build a $6 million dollar Native American Cultural Center.

The new center will serve as the home of the university’s American Indian program and as a facility for cultural events. New Mexico State says about 500 of the 16,000 students on its Las Cruces campus are American Indians.

Officials hope the center will help recruit more Indian students.
