Steady Rains Flood Streets In East El Paso County

EL PASO, TX. — Steady rains swept across the El Paso County early Saturdaymaking roads slick. Flooding was reported in some areas in the eastern part of the county, with much standing water remaining on the streets at daybreak.

Road crews came out to clear the standing water in Montana Vista, which received as much as 1.6 inches of rain overnight, according to ABC 7 StormTRACK meteorologist Amber Sullins.

Work crews were on hand with special equipment to siphon the deepest water off the road. Authorities had to close some roads to allow workers to complete their tasks.

The StormTRACK weather forecast is calling for a 50 percent chance of rain again on Saturday night, so conditions could be much the same overnight.
