Chris was born in El Paso, and raised in Canutillo. He is the second of 10 children to be born to John and Joyce Swann. His father raised horses, and Chris worked for him, raising and caring for thoroughbreds until he was 17. He was homeschooled through Elementary and High School, and attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree.

Chris has worked at Sunland Park Racetrack as a Camera Operator, and at KDBC-TV in El Paso as an Editor and Live Truck Operator. ABC 7 hired him on as a Prime Time Editor in December of 1991, and he has been with the company ever since. His current position is Operations Manager, and people who work with him say that he is a conscientious and focused manager who never loses his cool.

Chris enjoys practicing Aikido, Ju-Jitsu and Hapkido, and loves motorcycling.
