Fallen LCPD Officer Honored And Buried In El Paso
EL PASO, TX – The funeral for Las Cruces Police Officer Andrew Cordova was held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Wednesday afternoon.
Cordova, 24, died last Thursday night while off duty. Investigators say he was riding in his personal motorcycle when he crashed into a car that turned in front of him. The accident is still under investigation.
Cordova joined theLCPD last year. Prior to that, he was a member of theU.S. Marine Corpsand served two tours of duty in Iraq.
Following the funeral, Cordova was buried at Memorial Pines Cemetary in Sunland Park, New Mexico. A fallen officer memorial will be held for Cordova Friday in Las Cruces.
