Bank Temporarily Shut Down After Suspicious Briefcase Observed

EL PASO, TX. – The Wells Fargo Bank branch located at 4600 Woodrow Bean in El Paso’s Northeast community was temporarily shut down and evacuated when a suspicious briefcase left in the bank lobby was noticed by bank staff.

Wells Fargo representatives said “the bank takes all suspicious situations very seriously and[their] number one concern is for the welfare and safety of team members and customers.” The branch’s management had the building evacuated and the incident was reported to police.

Subsequently, the briefcase was found to be harmless and bank employees were given the all clear to return to work shortly before 4:15 p.m. Assistant Vice President of Wells Fargo Public Relations, StephanieGrant said the bankis fully cooperating with the authorities in investigating the incident.
