Remnants Of Tropical Storm Erin Unleash Heavy Rain

UNDATED (AP) – At least one death in Texas is blamed on what had been Tropical Storm Erin.

Authorities say Erin pushed through with heavy thunderstorms after making landfall today on the Texas Gulf Coast and headed to the flood-weary Hill Country. Officials say one person died in Houston when a storage-unit roof collapsed.

Heavy rain in the Houston area also left behind flooding. But emergency officials and residents say prepping for Erin was good practice as the 2007 hurricane season picks up. Erin came ashore near Rockport, bringing rain to the coast even as it was downgraded to a tropical depression — meaning sustained winds of less than 39 miles per hour.
