Bliss’ 377th Transportation Company To Deploy To Iraq

EL PASO, TX – As the Fourth of the First Brigade Combat Team nears the end of its tour in Iraq – another Fort Bliss unit’s time overseas is just about beginning.

Members of the 377th Transportation Company started their deployment at Fort Bliss Wednesday. The company is part of the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade.

The unit is headed to Iraq to provide additional transportation capabilities to coalition forces. It will be the second and third tour of duty for some soldiers in the brigade.

Families and soldiers alike said that doesn’t make the deployment any easier. “It never gets easier when you leave your family, but you lean on past experiences and that helps out a lot,” stated Sergeant Richard Roloson.

The 377th is expected to be overseas for a total of 15 months.
