Family Of Fort Bliss Soldier Told Of His Death In Iraq

GRANDVIEW, Wash. (AP) – The family of a Fort Bliss soldier from Grandview, Washington, says they’ve been informed of his death in Iraq.

The parents of 20-year-old Specialist Matt Emerson say they were notified yesterday. Emerson served as a gunner on a Humvee in Mosul.

He graduated from Grandview High School in 2004 and played on the school’s football team.
