Early Morning Fire In Central Labeled Arson

EL PASO, TX – Fire Department officials say an early morning fire Wednesday was intentionally set.

At approximately 5:20 am, seven units from the El Paso Fire Department responded to the house fire on the 1000 block of Grama in Central. Units on the scene reported heavy smoke coming from the rear side of the residence and labeled it as a condition two.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and kept it from spreading to the inside of the house, officials say. Total damages were estimated at $5,000, they add.

Fire investigators, along with Fire Marshals, determined the fire was set intentionally and ruled it as arson. No injuries were reported on the scene.

Anyone with information on this fire or any other arson fire is urged to call the Fire Marshals Office at 771-1090 or they can call Crime Stoppers at 566-8477 (TIPS).
