Shots Ring Out In Central El Paso Neighborhood
EL PASO, TX — Police arrested four peopleSunday morning following a violent disturbance in Central El Paso.
Officers came out to the intersection of Dyer and Tompkins around 3:30 a.m. afterthey receiveda report of shots that were fired near aChico’s Tacos restaurant.
Emergency radio transmissions revealed that police had been informed by witnesses that as many as 10 shots had been fired. Officers retrievedseveral bullet casings for evaluation, and they patrolled the area to search for a shooter.
Emergency medical crews also reported tothe scene, but did not immediately find anyone who had been shot or injured. Dispatchers informed ABC-7 personnel thatmedical crews eventually took one personto Thomason Hospital for treatment of potentially serious injuries, but could not confirm if the patient actually had been shot.
No word was released as of Sunday afternoon as to which suspect in custody was armed, nor any details of an intended target of the shooting.
EPPD Spokesman Chris Mears tells ABC-7 that names and ages of the arrestees will not be released until Monday.
