Man Arrested After Running Over Teenage Girl
LAS CRUCES, NM -Police arrested the man who allegedly ran over his teenage girlfriend and then proceeded to drag her for more than 100 feet.
Luis Carrasco, 23, was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of criminal sexual penetration of a minor for his relationship with the underage girl.
The incident happened late Friday night on the 2000 block of Stanford Dr. After running over the 13-year-old girl with his car, Carrasco allegedly continued to drive and dragged the girl the length of a football field before coming to a stop, police say.
Police and emergency crews found the the girl near the Pic Quick at 2240 Missouri Ave. They did not reveal if Carrasco dropped her off at that location or if she managed to get their on her own.
The girl sustained multiple injuries and was airlifted to Thomason Hospital in El Paso where she islisted in stable condition.
Carrasco was transported to the Dona Ana County Detention Center under an $11,000 bond.
