Las Cruces Woman Apparently Drowns In Pool

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) – Police say a 52-year-old Las Cruces woman who was found in the bottom of her back yard pool apparently drowned.

Police spokesman Dan Trujillo tells the Las Cruces Sun-News that the body of Linda Franco was taken to the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque for an autopsy.

She was found unresponsive in the pool about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday. Attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.

A police report says she arrived home around 11 p.m. and went to her bedroom. Family members began searching for her when she did not come back out.
