Woman Killed In Pedestrian Crash
NEAR HORIZON CITY — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in far East El Paso County on Sunday night, sheriff’s investigators said.
The incident happened at about 10:30p.m. near the intersection of Horizon Boulevard and Ascension Road, just east of Horizon City.
Investigators said a woman was crossing horizon in a very dark area, when a mercedes headed east hit her. The driver swerved to try to avoida crash, but could not, sheriff’s investigators said.
The driver stopped and called for help. The woman died on the scene.
Investigators were waiting for the medical examiner before searching the body for identification.
They said speed or alcohol don’t appear to be factors in the collision.
