Wife Of Public Corruption Target Fired From County Job
By Martin Bartlett
EL PASO — El Paso County Clerk Delia Briones confirms to ABC-7 that she firedAdrienne Parra on Monday.
Adrienne Parra testified that she was married to Fernando Parra, according to newspapertree.com.
Fernando Parra was arrested in late January on child pornography charges and has been linked to the on-going federal public corruption investigation.
“I can only tell you that I thought it was in the best interest of this office,” Briones said.
The Federal Government has alleged that Adrienne Parra’s employment in a previous job at city hall was a direct result of the political connections of her husband.
Until Monday, she was the office manager in the county clerk’s office.
Briones told ABC-7 that Adrienne Parra’s “strenuous personal issue” was “hindering her ability to effectively work.”
