The Pet Care-A-Van
EL PASO, Texas – The Pet Care-A-Van is a mobile van operated by the City of El Paso Department of Public Health’s Animal Services that provides free spay and neuter surgeries.
According to Animal Services, more than 18,000 dogs and cats are euthanized in El Paso each year due to irresponsible pet ownership and pet overpopulation. Animal Services is asking for the publics help to protect the health, safety and welfare of pets in El Paso.
Owners desiring to have their pet spayed or neutered must be present at the Pet Care-A-Van location at 7:00 am. Animal Services can accommodate a maximum of 25 pets each day on a first-come first-served basis.
Pets may drink water up until the time of surgery, but should not have solid food after 8:00 pm the night before spaying/neutering.
Pets that are undergoing surgery must also receive rabies vaccinations ($9.00), be registered/licensed ($8.00), and be microchipped ($15.00) as required by Animal Ordinances.
