Las Cruces Motorcycle Officer Injured In Crash

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico – A Las Cruces police officer was thrown 50-60 feet from his department motorcycle after a Ford pickup hit him, police said Friday.Officer Antonio “Tony” Saenz, 41,was rushed to Mountain View Regional Medical Center, then flown to Thomas Hospital in El Paso due to the extent of his injuries.The10-year veteranis in stable condition. The driver of the pickup has minor injuries.

According to police, the officer was en route to another traffic crash when his unit was struck by the pickup at the intersection of Main Street and El Paseo Road.

The Las Cruces Police Department’s traffic division is investigating the crash and citations are pending.
