Threats Caused Catholic College To Close Indefinitely
CHICAGO (AP) – A Catholic college in Chicago is shutting down for a while after threatening graffiti were found in a dorm.
St. Xavier University President Judith Dwyer says the graffiti were found twice this month in Regina Hall. A message found Thursday read, “Be prepared to die on 4/14.”
Officials closed down both campuses of the liberal arts college in Chicago and Orland Park indefinitely, starting Friday. All classes are canceled for the school’s 5,700 students.
University officials say they prefer to err on the side of caution. They have asked students to leave campus by noon Saturday.
Security has been increased on campus, including the use of Chicago police officers.
