Border Patrol Agents Seize 700 Pounds Of Marijuana

ALAMOGORDO, New Mexico – Border Patrol agents in Alamogordo seized nearly 700 pounds of marijuana at a checkpoint on Monday.

According to Border Patrol, the drugs were found in the sleeper cab of a semi truck, hidden in duffle bags. Two people inside the cab allegedly told the agents there was military equipment in the bags, but after inspection, agents said they found several plastic bundles of marijuana. The drugs have an estimated value of more than $555,000.

Both people in the cab were residents of Jamaica. Both were arrested.
