Man Wanted For Molesting Granddaughters

EL PASO COUNTY, Texas — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting three children.

Fifty-four-year-old Luis Lopez Rojas, also known as Luis Lopez, is wanted for two counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child and indecency with a child, sheriff’s officials said.

The sexual assaults were first reported in March 2008. The caseis being handled by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Sex Crime Unit.

Rojas has been deported in the past due to a felony conviction for narcotics trafficking and being in the United States Illegally, officials said.

Sheriff’s officials said Rojas has altered his physical appearance by shaving his mustache and he has dyed his hair black. They said Rojas is back in the U.S.and has been seen in the San Elizario area.

Rojas is 5-foot-7 and 130 lbs. and has a tattoo of the Virgin Mary on his back that runs from his neck area all the way down to his lower back. He has a tattoo on either his right or left bicep of a drawing of his wife and the name “Rosa”. On his other arm, opposite to the drawing of his wife, he has another tattoo of a saint. Rojas also has a scar of the shape of a heart on his left chest area, officials said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts or has seen Rojas or other fugitives featured on “Manhunt Monday” is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 546-2280 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward if the information provided leads to the apprehension of the individuals featured.
