Bones Of 11th Body Found Near Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Bones from an 11th body have been discovered on a mesa west of Albuquerque and police have determined the identification of a pregnant woman whose bones were discovered earlier this week.
Albuquerque Police Chief Ray Schultz says the body of a pregnant woman was identified as Michelle Valdez of Albuquerque, who was 22 years old when she was reported missing in 2005. Her bones were uncovered Monday.
He says the 11th body, including the bones of a fetus, was uncovered Tuesday.
Police have been searching an area 30 yards by 10 yards since early February when a hiker found a human bone in an area recently razed for a housing development.
They suspect one person is responsible for burying the bodies in the area, but say it is too premature to name suspects.
