Fabens Man Allegedly Leads Sheriff’s Deputies On Chase
EL PASO, Texas — A man who allegedly led sheriff’s deputies on a chase before rolling over in his truck was arrested Saturday night for reckless driving.
About 6:15 p.m. Saturday, sheriff’s deputies responded to a hit and run wreck in the 100 block of N.W. C.C. Camp in Fabens.
They found that a white Ford F-150 truck struck a brick wall then fled as residents came out of the home, sheriff’s officials said.
Sheriff’s deputies spotted the truck going west on North Loop and tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver, identified as 27-year-old Donovan Lee Medina of Fabens,refused to stop and led deputies on a chase toward Clint.
The driverlost control on a dirt shoulder on Cellum St. and hit a rock wall at a home.Medina then drove off again and continued couth on Cellum. While driving through a curve, the driver lost control again and the truck rolled over once, sheriff’s officials said.
Medina was transported to Thomason Hospital. He was booked while at the hospital for evading arrest/detention and vehicle and reckless drivingwith $120,000 total bond. Additional charges are pending.
Medina was released from the hospital and remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility, sheriff’s officials said.
