Airman Killed In Juarez Bar Was Emergency Medic, Officials Say
HOLLOMAN AFB, N.M. — An Air Force staff sergeant killed at a Juarez bar was an emergency responder at Holloman Air Force Base, Holloman officials said Thursday.
Twenty-six-year-old David Booher was gunned down with five other men in the Amadeus bar in Juarez early Wednesday morning.
Booher was assigned to the 49th Medical Operation Squadron.
“Members of Team Holloman are saddened by the loss of one our own,” said Col. Jeff Harrigian, 49th Fighter Wing commander, in a news release. “Kathy and I want to extend our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. They should know we are grateful for his service to the Air Force, his country and Team Holloman. He will be missed.”
A memorial service for Booher is scheduled next week at Holloman Air Force Base at a time to be announced. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is assisting Mexican state police in the investigation of the shooting, officials said.
